The 21st Annual Gypsy of the Year competition, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, was held on December 7 and 8 at the Palace Theatre. The show’s opening number spoofed FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, and featured Christopher Sieber as judge Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Birdsong as judge Mary Murphy, former contestant Ryan Kasprzak as himself, Paul Canaan as host Cat Deely, and casting director Bernie Telsey as himself.
