Winner of the 2009 Tony for Best Revival of a Musical!
Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical features book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni, and music by Galt MacDermot. Diane Paulus directs a cast led by Gavin Creel, Will Swenson, and Caissie Levy.
With a score including musical numbers as "Let the Sun Shine In," "Aquarius," "Hair" and "Good Morning Starshine," Hair follows a group of hopeful, free-spirited young people who advocate a lifestyle of pacifism and free-love in a society riddled with intolerance and brutality during the Vietnam War. As they explore sexual identity, challenge racism, experiment with drugs and burn draft cards, the "tribe" in Hair creates an irresistible message of 'hope' that continues to resonate with audiences 40 years later.
The production opened on Broadway to rave reviews, with TheaterMania's Brian Scott Lipton declaring that "in the remarkably sure hands of director Diane Paulus and a committed cast of young Broadway talent, the landmark 1967 work not only retains its political and social relevance, but remains a remarkably joyous and occasionally heartbreaking piece of theater. The result is the year's best Broadway musical revival."

I loved it! It was definitely different from any other play Ive seen, but it was very good. The actors came into the audience a couple of times and I actually got to dance with one of them, so that was pretty awesome! It was just a really fun show to see.

Review: Hair needs to be experienced by all!byBobsViews
There are no other shows like Hair. How many shows use their cast The Tribe its fullest potential? Everyone in the cast is excellent from the leads to the rest of The Tribe. How many shows are as relevant today as they were forty years ago? Though, the Hippie movement is long gone, the themes of war, sex, and drugs are as relevant today. Most importantly, How often does the audience get to be part of the show? The Tribe brings the audience from its fantastic opening. They let it happen naturally without it being gimmicky. I encourage anybody who reads this to order their tickets as soon as possible. Furthermore, I encourage you to participate in the show and join in the finale at the end. You may come away with a different opinion but you wont forget the experience of Hair.
I just started an event company and 30 girls went to see Hair last night..Most of us hated it....the ages were 29-60 and it was so mish mosh and was UGH
