Synopsis

Tina Landau directs the Broadway premiere of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts' Superior Donuts.

Arthur Przybyszewski owns a decrepit donut shop in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This provocative comedy, set in the heart of one of Chicago's most diverse communities, explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship.

Review: Excellent play--Go see it! by lvanwagner

Loved this play! Its well written and the actors are superb. Sometimes its flat out funny; other times it will take your breath away. Recommend it highly.

Review: RE:Not flaky, just delicious! by ReneeL

We loved Tracy Letts new play, Superior Donuts. All the actors were wonderful, but there was a fantastic standout performance by Jon Michael Hill. Michael McKean was at his best---and that is quite a complement considering his considerable talent. We laughed, were taken aback and cried--- pure Tracy Letts!
