Review: A wonderful show by rf10602
I was thrilled to see "Bye Bye Birdie" on Broadway again recently. John Stamos and Bill Irwin were terrific. Irwin had me laughing every time he appeared on stage. The rest of the cast was good too. The costumes, dancing and scenery were great. Folks, dont listen to the critics - go and see this fabulous show.

Review: bye bye birdie by BLUSTIG77
i think your reviewers have it wrong, i thought john stamos and gina gershon were fine, the problem was casting such a young actress as kim. her voice is not strong enough and she looks like she is 12.

Review: RE:What a fabulous flight! by elmokeys
I bought tickets for Bye Bye Birdie in previews and had the great fortune to sit in the second row. I was not sure what to expect. Although I have seen the Dick Van Dyke version and the Jason Alexander versions and knew all the songs, I still had not seen Birdie live. What is ironic is that I have directed many musicals at my school and must be one of the only high school musical directors who had not directed it! All I can say now is see it. John Stamos was solid as Albert and Gina Gershon was quite good as Rosie. Bill Irwin was absolutely stupendous as Mr. McAfee and the woman who played his wife as well as the wonderful actress who played Alberts mother were also solid and fun to watch. As if all of this is not enough to recommend the show, my highest praise of all goes to the kids in the cast. The McAfee kids were so good it was amazing as were the other teenagers and Birdie. Special praise goes to the young actress who plays Kim - what a voice, what a presence, what a future. Go see it, go see it, go see it now. This is the kind of entertainment that makes professional theater the gem of New York City!
