The first look at the Divine Miss M in her Broadway return has been released.
The new Broadway revival of Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart's Hello, Dolly! begins performances tomorrow night, March 15, and the production has released its first look at leading lady Bette Midler in the title role.
Directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle, Hello, Dolly! will open at Broadway's Shubert Theatre on April 20, with a cast that also includes David Hyde Pierce as Horace Vandergelder, Kate Baldwin as Irene Molloy, Gavin Creel as Cornelius, Taylor Trensch as Barnaby, Melanie Moore as Ermengarde, Jennifer Simard as Ernestina, Will Burton as Ambrose Kemper, and Beanie Feldstein as Minnie Fay. Two-time Tony winner Donna Murphy will play Dolly Levi during Tuesday evening performances beginning June 13.
The 27-member ensemble consists of Cameron Adams, Phillip Attmore, Giuseppe Bausilio, Justin Bowen, Elizabeth Earley, Taeler Cyrus, Leslie Donna Flesner, Jenifer Foote, Jessica Lee Goldyn, Stephen Hanna, Michael Hartung, Robert Hartwell, Aaron Kaburick, Amanda LaMotte, Analisa Leaming, Jess LeProtto, Ian Liberto, Kevin Ligon, Michael McCormick, Nathan Madden, Linda Mugleston, Hayley Podschun, Jessica Sheridan, Michaeljon Slinger, Christian Dante White, Branch Woodman, Ryan Worsing, and Richard Riaz Yoder.
The creative team includes Santo Loquasto (scenic and costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Scott Lehrer (sound design), Andy Einhorn (music direction), Larry Hochman (orchestrations), Don Pippin (vocal arrangements), and Glen Kelly (dance arrangements).
