The Dramatists Guild Fund honored Tony Award-winning composer John Kander at the organization’s 50th Anniversary Gala at the Mandarin Oriental New York on Sunday, June 3. Jon Cryer served as host.

Performers and/or attendees also included Christie Brinkley, Stockard Channing, Joel Grey, Joshua Henry, Lisa Kron, Howard McGillin, Terrence McNally, Neil Meron, Liza Minnelli, Debra Monk, Bebe Neuwirth, Chita Rivera, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim, Susan Stroman, Jeanine Tesori, Craig Zadan, and Karen Ziemba.

Kander’s many Broadway shows, written with Fred Ebb, include Chicago, Cabaret, The Rink, Zorba!, Steel Pier, Curtains, and The Scottsboro Boys. His newest work, The Landing, written with Gregory Pierce, recently received a Developmental Lab Production by The Vineyard Theatre.
