Schmigadoon! Original Broadway Cast Recording to Be Released August 21

The original Broadway cast recording of the Tony Award-winning Schmigadoon! will be released on Friday, August 21.

The album features the show’s complete Tony Award-winning score, with music and lyrics by Cinco Paul. The recording will be available on all streaming platforms, while physical CDs will be sold at the Nederlander Theatre.

Schmigadoon! stars Alex Brightman and Sara Chase as Josh Skinner and Melissa Gimble, alongside Ana Gasteyer, Ann Harada, Brad Oscar, Isabelle McCalla, Ivan Hernandez, Maulik Pancholy, Max Clayton, McKenzie Kurtz, and Ayaan Diop. Also featured are ensemble members Afra Hines, Becca Petersen, Brandon Block, Clyde Alves, Jess LeProtto, Joshua Burrage, Kaleigh Cronin, Keven Quillon, Kimberly Immanuel, Lauralyn McClelland, Lyrica Woodruff, Maria Briggs, Miles McNicoll, Nathan Lucrezio, Richard Riaz Yoder, Shina Ann Morris, and Zachary Downer.

Steven Malone conducts the orchestra, featuring Kelly Thomas, Julia Adamy, Joe Nero, Simon Kafka, Colleen Bernstein, Burt Mason, Jay Webb, Melissa Muñoz, Caroline Cassio, Elizabeth Nielsen, Rahel Lulseged, Vito Chiavuzzo, Steven Lyon, and Noelle Rueschman. They will be heard playing the show’s Entr’acte and Exit Music in full.

Schmigadoon! won four Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Orchestrations. The production also received Outstanding New Musical honors from the Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards.

Based on the Apple TV+ series created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, the Broadway musical is directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, with a book and score by Paul. The creative team also includes orchestrators Doug Besterman and Mike Morris, music supervisor David Chase, music director Steven Malone, scenic designer Scott Pask, costume designer Linda Cho, lighting designer Donald Holder, sound designer Walter Trarbach, hair and wig designer Tom Watson, and makeup designer Ashley Ryan.
