Eisa Davis begins her residency with Angela’s Mixtape, and Melis Aker’s Fish will be presented as part of a new partnership with WP Theater.

Signature Theatre has announced programming for its 2026-27 season, which begins September 26 with Melis Aker’s Noor, about a London teenager who goes in search of her brother, who she suspects was recruited by an ISIS catfisher. The show is a co-production with WP Theater presented in association with New Light Theater Project with consulting producer Noor Theater Company. It will perform at WP Theater through October 25.
In October, Signature will present Lauren Yee’s new comedy King of the Yees, with Tony Award winner Francis Jue stepping into the role of Yee’s father. Press material describes the play as “a surreal, magical journey through the history and myths of [Yee’s] own lineage.” Joshua Kahan Brody directs. Yee is the writer of Cambodian Rock Band and the recently presented Mother Russia.
For one weekend in November 2026, the lobby at the Pershing Square Signature Center will host free concert performances of resident artist Heather Christian’s Terce: A Practical Breviary. In his review of the world premiere in the 2024 Prototype Festival, critic Kenji Fujishima observed, “Christian’s intoxicating score ranges from contemplative prayer to raucous gospel evangelizing, and even includes a number made up entirely of human bird calls and an anguished improvisatory section.” Christian is also the composer of Oratorio for Living Things.
In February 2027, Signature will host the Mad Ones in a new production of the collaborative troupe’s hit comedy Miles for Mary, about the organizing committee of an Ohio high school charity telethon in 1988. Miles for Mary debuted at the Bushwick Starr in 2016 before playing an encore performance at Playwrights Horizons in 2018, where our critic called it “the hottest comedy in New York.”
In May 2027, Eisa Davis will kick off her Signature residency with Angela’s Mixtape, about her radical upbringing around figures like her aunt, Angela Davis. Davis was recently seen at HERE with The Essentialisn’t.
