The Actors Fund, in association with Michael Childers, will present a one-night-only special event, Tradition: The Jewish Legacy of Broadway, on Monday, December 14, at John Jay College. The evening celebrates the Jewish composers, lyricists, and performers who graced the stages of Broadway from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

From the roots of Tin Pan Alley, operettas, and the Yiddish Theatre, Tradition: The Jewish Legacy of Broadway celebrates the genesis and birth of the American musical. The company will include Christine Andreas (La Cage aux Folles), Ann Hampton Callaway, Liz Callaway (Baby), Brian Childers, Janice Hall, Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Hal Linden (Cabaret), Janene Lovullo, Millicent Martin (Frasier), Sean McDermott, Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line), Debra Monk (Curtains), Hugh Panaro (The Phantom of the Opera), Craig Schulman, Gary Shaw, Von Smith, Billy Stritch, and Karen Ziemba (Bullets Over Broadway).

Produced by Childers, the evening is directed by David Levy and music directed by John McDaniel. All proceeds will benefit the programs and services of the Actors Fund.
