The Houston-based Main Street Theater has announced casting for its upcoming presentation of Voyage, part one of Sir Tom Stoppard’s Coast of Utopia trilogy, featuring a company of over 30 actors. Voyage will be performed at MST’s Chelsea Market location, January 12-29. Rebecca Greene Udden will direct.

Spanning 1833 to 1866, the trilogy is anchored by the presence of anarchist Michael Bakunin, literary critic Vissarion Belinsky, literary giant Ivan Turgenev, and revolutionary thinker Alexander Herzen, four men who came of age under Tsar Nicholas I, whose passion for political and intellectual change is mirrored in their personal pursuit of love and happiness. As the arcs of their lives intersect repeatedly, the seeds of the great social revolutions of the late nineteenth century are sown.

The Coast of Utopia trilogy will feature performances by Seán Patrick Judge (Turgenev), Joe Kirkendall (Herzen), Guy Roberts (Bakunin) and Joel Sandel (Belinsky). In addition, Ivy Castle, Rutherford Cravens, Kregg Alan Dailey and Celeste Roberts will play prominent roles in Voyage.

The design team will include set designer Jodi Bobrovsky, costume designer Margaret Crowley, lighting designer Eric Marsh, sound designer Shawn W. St. John, and prop designer/set dresser Pamela Miltenberger.
