Premieres by Willy Holtzman, Jeffrey Hatcher and Eric Simonson Set for City Theatre’s 2010-2011 Season

Pittsburgh’s City Theatre has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will include the world premiere of Eric Simonson and Jeffrey Hatcher’s Louder, Faster, according to a report in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This theatrical biography playwright George S. Kaufman will be presented in May 2011.

The theater will also produce the world premiere of Willy Holtzman’s The Morini Strad (November 6 – December 12). The play is based on the life of famed concert violinist Erica Morini and her Stradivarius.

City Theatre’s season will also include The 39 Steps (beginning October 16), Tarell Alvin McCraney’s Marcus, Or the Secret of Sweet (January 22 – February 13), Madeleine George’s Precious Little (March 12 – April 3), and Jessica Dickey’s solo show The Amish Project (April 2 – May 8).

The theater’s programming will be rounded out with a engagements of Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words and Sister’s Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi’s Gold.
