Yo-Yo Ma Helps Raise $100,000 at Actors’ Shakespeare Project Annual Gala

The internationally famed cellist performed at the company’s 10th anniversary fundraising event.

On Monday evening, the Actors’ Shakespeare Project of Cambridge, Massachusetts celebrated ten years of work at their annual fundraising gala, which honored ten artistic luminaries. World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who was among the evening’s honorees, performed for the sold-out crowd at Cambridge’s Royal Sonesta.

The other honorees included Tina Packer; Alvin Epstein, Somerville mayor; Joseph A. Curtatone; Commissioner Peter Forbes and Katie Cohn of Massachusetts Department of Youth Services; John DiGiovanni, President, Trinity Property Management; Faith and Glenn Parker, The Parker Family Foundation; Klare Shaw, Executive Director of the Office of Expanded Learning, Advancement, and Partnerships; Boston Public Schools; Lori Taylor, former ASP Project Director and Education Specialist; Silk Road Project; and Kathleen Rogers and Rick Teller.

Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Executive Producer Sara Stackhouse emceed the evening of tributes, which raised an impressive $100,000 for the theater company.
