The Universal Music Collection, a series of six family-friendly CDs of popular music, will be released on Tuesday, August 19.
Of particular note to theater lovers is Future Idols, which includes such selections as “Popular,” “Do Re Mi,” “Tomorrow,” “Put on a Happy Face,” “Consider Yourself,” and “Getting to Know You,” sung by the original Broadway stars.
Other CDs include Ella Fitzgerald: Miss Ella’s Playhouse; Jazz Lullaby, featuring such vocalists as Mel Torme and Abbey Lincoln; Motown for Kids; Totally ’80s for Kids; and Songs for the Car, which includes selections by Bobby McFerrin, Patti LaBelle, James Brown, and Lionel Richie.
