Travis Greisler’s Intergalactic Space Journey The Orion Experience to Lift Off August 1

The theatrical live rock concert experience features dancing, space vampires, and cocktails.

Travis Greisler’s The Orion Experience, described as an “intergalactic space journey meets theatrical live rock concert,” will touch down at Manhattan’s XL Nightclub August 1. The production is set to play through September 1.

The Orion Experience first played last year at Dixon Place. It’s ensemble features drag performers and rockers including Orion Simprini as Captain Orion, Linda Horwatt as Lindatron, Reef Rox as Dr. Reef, and Sir Honey Davenport as The Queen of White Lies. The show is presented by Ryan Bogner (Here Lies Love at Williamstown) in association with RKO Stage (Big Fish).

The production features set design by Jason Ardizzone-West, costume design by Andrea Hood, lighting design by KJ Hardy, projection design by David Bengali, and choreography by Misha Shields.

The Orion Experience‘s music is by the band of the same name. Their high-energy disco pop songs have been heard on such shows as Laguna Beach and The Hills.

“When I first listened to the music of The Orion Experience, I knew that we were a match made in the cosmos… Like a night at a Brooklyn warehouse party or a ride at an elaborate theme park, The Orion Experience will launch you into the stars to dance the night away at our very own space disco,” said Greisler in a statement.
