Tracie Bennett, Jeff Goldblum, Rachel York Set for Ahmanson Theatre’s 2012-2013 Season

Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles has announced the remainder of its 2012-2013 Ahmanson Theatre season.


As previously reported, Peter Quilter’s play End of the Rainbow, staring Tony Award nominee Tracie Bennett as Judy Garland, will run March 12-April 21.


The season will feature Theresa Rebeck’s comedy Seminar, starring Jeff Goldblum as a famous writer who intimidates his students, to be directed by Sam Gold (October 10-November 18); followed by the national tour of the Roundabout Theatre Company’s of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes, starring Rachel York and directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall (November 27-January 6).


Next up will be the U.S premiere of the musical Backbeat, about so-called “fifth Beatle” Stuart Sutcliffe, to be directed by David Leveaux (January 16-February 24). The season will conclude with a return engagement of the Tony Award-winning musical Fela! (April 25-May 5), and the award-winning John Kander-Fred Ebb-David Thompson musical The Scottsboro Boys, directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman (May 21-June 30).
