Rebecca Gayheart to Play the Principal in Jawbreaker Musical

Knot Free Productions will present a workshop production of Jawbreaker The Musical, the stage adaptation of Darren Stein’s 1999 cult classic of the same name from TriStar Pictures, September 4-20, at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood.

Rebecca Gayheart returns 27 years after starring in the original film to play Principal Sherwood. Joining Gayheart in the cast are Aj Paramo as Fern Mayo, Méami as Courtney Shayne, Kristen Seggio as Julie Freeman (the role originated by Gayheart), Jane Papageorge as Marcie Fox, Will Riddle as Zack Tartak, Mireya Zoé Nevel as Elizabeth Purr, and Brandon Keith Rogers as Dane Sanders. Ensemble members are Dominic DeCicco, Mitchell Gerrard Johnson, Kayla Quiroz, and Avery Rehl.

Featuring a book by Stein, original music by Jeff Thomson, and lyrics by Jordan Mann, Jawbreaker The Musical follows the rise and unraveling of a ruthless clique of teenage girls whose reign of power takes a deadly turn.

The production is directed by Matt DiCarlo, with choreography by Jay Jackson, known on RuPaul’s Drag Race as Laganja Estranja.
