On Monday night, at Stella Adler Studio’s Stella by Starlight benefit gala, Martin Sheen accepted the Marlon Brando Award for a life committed to social activism and excellence in film art. Stockard Channing presented him with the award.

Liz Smith (center) received the Harold Clurman Lifetime Achievement Award for a lifelong commitment to the enoblement of humanity through culture. She’s pictured here with legendary film director Sidney Lumet and producer Sheila Nevins, who is President of HBO Documentary and Family.

The late Roy Scheider was honored with the Group Theatre Award for prolific achievement in the theater. Here are his son Christian and widow, Brenda Scheider.

Among the attendees were actress Dina Merrill and husband, Ted Hartley.

Emmy Award winning actress and Broadway veteran Holland Taylor was also in attendance.

Film and stage legend Kathleen Turner is currently directing the revival of The Roundabout Theatre Company’s Crimes of the Heart.

Tony winners Marian Seldes and Christine Ebersole were among the guests.

Nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune — who recently received the Fred & Adele Astaire Lifetime Achievement Award — was also in attendance.

And now for something completely different. Spamalot cast members Clay Aiken, Hannah Waddingham, and Jonathan Hadary celebrated the third anniversary of the smash Broadway musical by donning 3-D Glasses at the Shubert Theatre.

Out in Los Angeles, Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth joined Pushing Daisies cast mate Ellen Greene for the 25th Annual William S. Paley TV Festival at the Arclight Cinemas on March 15.

Pushing Daisies cast members Lee Pace and Anna Friel also participated in the event.
