The cast includes most of the originating ensemble from the developmental run.

The complete cast has been announced for the return of Andrew Fox and Joel Sinensky’s Slam Frank, running September 17-November 30, with an official opening on October 4, at the Orpheum Theatre.
Fox conceived, composed, and co-wrote the show with Sinensky. Inspired by a 2022 viral Twitter thread that asked, “Did Anne Frank ever acknowledge her white privilege?”, Slam Frank imagines what happens when a progressive theater company asks themselves that same question as they transform Anne Frank’s true story into an intersectional, multi-ethnic, genderqueer, decolonized, anti-capitalist, hyper-empowering Afro-Latin hip-hop musical.
The cast includes most of the originating ensemble from the developmental run: Olivia Bernábe as Anita (Anne), Alex Lewis as Peter, Austen Horne as Edith, Rocky Paterra as Otto, John Anker Bow as Mr. Van Daan, Jaz Zepatos as Mrs. Van Daan, and Walker Stovall as Asst. Stage Manager. Amelia Louise Barr joins the cast as Margot. Understudies include Olamide Asanpaola, Ashlyn Combs, Matthew Krob, Isabella Orosco, and Keegan Sells.
The production features choreography by Esosa Oviasu, music direction by Alex Harrington, direction by Sam LaFrage, scenic design by Adam Koch, costume design by Sarah Lockwood, lighting design by Jamie Roderick, sound design by Gage Baker, video design by Zack Lobel, and props design by Devin Orr.
TheaterMania’s Zachary Stewart wrote in his review, “Fox’s hummable pastiche score and Sinensky’s sidesplitting book are further enhanced by Sam Lafrage’s resourceful direction, which is chock-full of sight gags sending up the work of Michael Greif, Julie Taymor, Ivo Van Hove, and Jamie Lloyd.”
