Seth Rudetsky's Disaster! Will Play Broadway With Kerry Butler, Adam Pascal, and More

After an off-Broadway run, the musical that features the hits of the 1970s will move to the Great White Way.

Disaster!, Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick's musical that played a six-month run at St. Luke's Theatre in 2014, will make the move to Broadway in spring 2016. The show will begin previews at the Nederlander Theatre on Tuesday, February 9, and open on Tuesday, March 8.

The cast comprises Tony Award winners Roger Bart (The Producers) and Faith Prince (Annie); Tony nominees Kerry Butler (Xanadu), Kevin Chamberlin (The Addams Family), and Adam Pascal (Rent); Drama Desk winner Rachel York (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels); Drama Desk nominee Jennifer Simard (reprising her role from the off-Broadway production of Disaster!); three-time Emmy nominee and show coauthor Rudetsky; Max Crumm (Grease); and Lacretta Nicole (the national tour of The Book of Mormon).

The musical is a send-up of the disaster movies of the 1970s, incorporating hit tunes such as "Hot Stuff," "Don't Bring Me Down," "I Am Woman," "Alone Again, Naturally," "Signed Sealed Delivered," "Knock on Wood," "Daybreak," "Sky High," and more.

Plotnick directs the production, which features choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, scenic design by Tobin Ost, costume design by William Ivey Long, and lighting design by Jeff Croiter.
