PHOTO FLASH: Edie Falco, Megan Hilty, Eddie Izzard, Andrew Lloyd Webber at Jesus Christ Superstar Opening

On Thursday, March 22, the Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar opened at the Neil Simon Theatre.

Opening night guests included the show’s composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, and lyricist Tim Rice, along with Douglas Carter Beane, Jamie Cepero, Wayne Coyne, Edie Falco, Megan Hilty, Eddie Izzard, Moises Kaufman, Richard Kind, Lisa Lampanelli, Rebecca Luker, Jan Maxwell, Roberta Maxwell, Tommy Mottola, Judy Parker, Ron Raines, Anthony Rapp, Thalia, Ben Vereen, Meredith Vieira, and Matthew Warchus.

The production, which originated at The Stratford Shakespeare Festival, is directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff. It features Paul Nolan as Jesus Christ, Josh Young as Judas Iscariot, Chilina Kennedy as Mary Magdalene, Tom Hewitt as Pontius Pilate, Bruce Dow as King Herod, Marcus Nance as Caiaphas, and Aaron Walpole as Annas.
