PHOTO FLASH: Brent Barrett, Jamie Cepero, Karen Mason and More at Broadway Beauty Pageant

On Monday, March 19, the sixth annual Broadway Beauty Pageant was held at Symphony Space to benefit the Ali Forney Center. Tovah Feldshuh hosted the evening, with a panel of judges that included Jackie Hoffman, Michael Musto, and Tonya Pinkins.

After talent, interview, and swimsuit segments, Andrew Chappelle from Mamma Mia! was crowned this year’s Mr. Broadway. Chappelle entertained the crowd with tips for walking in heels and an extravagant Wizard of Oz themed swimsuit. Special guest Brent Barrett opened the show with the contestants, and previous winners Michael Cusumano, Frankie James Grande, and Anthony Hollock took the stage for a medley of their winning performances.

This year’s contestants also included Wilkie Ferguson III (Porgy and Bess), Corey Mach (Godspell), Jesse Swimm (Mary Poppins), and Anthony Wayne (Priscilla Queen of the Desert).

Guests who came to show their support included Smash star Jamie Cepero as well as Kelly King, Marti Gould Cummings, Michelle Dowdy, Karen Mason, Marissa Rosen, Victoria Shaffer, and Marty Thomas.
