Following the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, where it won the Triple R Award and received a Pipeline Foundation Arts Grant, the new musical The Real Kyle McCarren has announced its full cast and creative team.

The production returns with its new ensemble to Joe’s Pub July 18–19, before its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at Pleasance Courtyard Forth August 5–30.

This rock and roll musical-meets-live concert séance stars its creators, Jonathan Larson grant recipient Andy Roninson as himself and international indie recording artist Sean McVerry as Kyle McCarren. Kyle and Andy were bandmates, but the real Kyle McCarren is dead, and he won’t let Andy forget it.

The cast also includes Vincent Jamal Hooper as Liam and others, Jaygee Macapugay as Siobhan and others, and Sarah Coffey as Justine and others.

Long-time collaborators Lonny Price and Matt Cowart, whose 20-year partnership spans Broadway, the West End, film, and television, co-direct the production. They are joined by resident director Jim Fagan.

The band includes Paige Durr on drums and Jamie Mohamdein on bass.
