McG In Discussions to Direct Film Version of Spring Awakening

Film director McG is in discussions to produce and direct the film version of the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The director, whose real name is Joseph McGinty Nichol, has been working with librettist Steven Sater and composer Duncan Sheik on the project, according to the publication.

McG, director of the upcoming film Terminator Salvation, helmed the film versions of We Are Marshall and Charlie’s Angels, and directed music videos for Smash Mouth and Offspring.
