James Carpenter, Gabriel Marin, and Garth Petal will star in the Black Box Theatre production of The Creature, October 23-November 7, to be directed by Rob Melrose at Thick House.
Trevor Allen’s play is a re-telling of the Frankenstein myth as told by three narrators from Mary Shelley’s classic novel: The Creature (Carpenter), his creator Victor Frankenstein (Marin), and Captain Walton (Petal). On an icebound ship in the Arctic, a fevered man comes aboard, and in his delirium he recounts the horror.
The creative team will include Stephanie Buchner (lighting design), Cassandra Carpenter (costume design), Cliff Caruthers (composer/sound design), and Michael Locher (scenic design).
