Hartford TheaterWorks will present the first four-actor production of Nilaja Sun’s No Child, to run August 15-September 28. The production will be directed by Rob Ruggerio.
The show has previously been presented Off-Broadway and around the country as a solo piece starring Sun, who has won numerous awards for her work. It is based on Sun’s real-life experiences as teaching artist who goes into the New York school system.
For this production, Donnetta Lavinia Grays will be playing the role of Sun, and the roles of the various students, teachers, administrators, parents and the janitor who narrates the play will be performed by Lizan Mitchell, Portia, and Anthony Mark Stockard.
