The new Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical plays the Palace Theatre.
Photos have been released of the new revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, featuring Glenn Close reprising her 1995 Tony-winning performance. The production opens February 9 at Broadway's Palace Theatre.
Based on the classic Billy Wilder film, Sunset Boulevard is about silent film star Norma Desmond. Forgotten in the era of talkies, she slips further into delusion in her cavernous Los Angeles mansion.
Close won her third Tony for her portrayal of Desmond in the original 1994 Broadway run. In this revival, she is joined by Siobhan Dillon, Fred Johanson, and Michael Xavier, all making their Broadway debuts. The new production also features a 40-piece orchestra playing Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning score. Lonny Price directs.
