Gregg Ostrin’s off-Broadway drama Kowalski will have its Chicago premiere at Lookingglass Theatre Company, September 15 – October 25.

Colin Hanlon, who staged the New York production in 2025, returns to direct. His cast will be led by Emmy nominee Johnny Galecki, in his first acting role since The Big Bang Theory went off the air in 2019.

The play follows a meeting between playwright Tennessee Williams and a variety of people whose influences can be seen within A Streetcar Named Desire.

Galecki’s stage credits include the Tony Award-nominated Broadway production of The Little Dog Laughed, for which he received a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut, as well as The Drawer BoyPot MomThe Member of the Wedding, and Galileo.
