The recording will include a previously unreleased 2000 duet featuring Lea Michele and the late Gavin Creel.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Spring Awakening, Decca Broadway will release the first-ever vinyl of the original Broadway cast recording on August 14. Produced in collaboration with show creators Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, the Twentieth Anniversary Edition has been newly mastered for vinyl by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound.
The vinyl includes the previously unreleased archival recordings “All Begin to Call,” a 2000 duet featuring Lea Michele and the late Gavin Creel, and “As Shadows Do,” performed by Lauren Pritchard.
Recorded in the months following the show’s Atlantic Theatre Company run and released days after its Broadway debut in 2006, the cast recording of the musical was made partly in Duncan Sheik’s home studio.
Available on standard black vinyl and limited-edition red-and-black marbled vinyl, the deluxe package includes a 24-page booklet featuring rare photos, essays, complete lyrics, and an all-new oral history with the original cast and creative team.
The Tony Award-winning musical based on the Frank Wedekind play features music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater. The original 2006 Broadway production launched the careers of many of its young stars, including Lea Michele, Jonathan Groff, and John Gallagher Jr.
