On Tuesday morning, Brandon Victor Dixon and Renée Elise Goldsberry became two of this season's Tony-nominated performers — Dixon for his performance as Eubie Blake in Shuffle Along and Goldsberry for her role as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton. As the two embark on a busy awards season, we decided to look back 11 years to when they performed side by side in the original production of the musical The Color Purple — which has returned this season and racked up a ton of accolades. Goldsberry was the musical's original Nettie while Dixon earned his first Tony nomination for his performance as Harpo. Try to spot both as the first Color Purple cast performs on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2005.
