Celebrity participants have been announced for the 22nd Annual Easter Bonnet Competition on Monday, April 28 at 4:30pm and Tuesday, April 29 at 2pm at the Minskoff Theatre. All proceeds from the event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
This year’s special guests will include Harvey Fierstein, Faith Prince, David Hyde Pierce, Kelli O’Hara, Tom Wopat, Nathan Lane, Laurie Metcalf, Roger Bart, Megan Mullally, Sierra Boggess, Tituss Burgess, Daniel Evans, Jenna Russell, Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele, Ron Kunene, Tshidi Manye, Don Richard, Jen Cody, and 104-year-old original Ziegfeld girl Doris Travis Eaton.
This year’s celebrity judges will include Sebastian Arcelus, Stephanie J. Block, Dylan Baker, Norm Lewis, Chris March, S. Epatha Merkerson, Matthew Morrison, Albert Poland, and Bernie Telsey.
The two-day Broadway spectacular features the companies of more than 15 Broadway, off-Broadway, and touring productions singing, dancing, and donning original Easter bonnets.The winner of the competition will be the company that raises the largest amount of money for BC/EFA. A second award is granted to the company with the best bonnet design and presentation. Awards are also presented to the Broadway play, national tour, and Off-Broadway production raising the most money for BC/EFA.
