Atlantic Theater Company has announced casting for the world premiere of Bubba Weiler’s The Saviors, which is slated to begin performances at the Linda Gross Theater on July 8 ahead of an official opening on July 27 (it had originally been slated to open in June). With the new dates of the run, performances are now scheduled through August 8.

The cast will feature Crystal Finn (recently seen in Ro Reddick’s Cold War Choir Practice), Ivan Howe (Netflix’s Eric), Julius Rinzel (The Antiquities), and Stanley Simons (The Iron Claw).

According to an official description, “When a lost young man takes shelter in their church, two altar boys desperately cling to each other as their changing faiths, lives, and bodies threaten to tear them apart.”

The Saviors will feature sets by David Zinn, costumes by Avery Reed, lights by Stacey Derosier, sound by Leah Gelpe, and casting by The Telsey Office: Will Cantler, CSA. Ashley-Rose Galligan will serve as the Production Stage Manager.

The play reunites Weiler with director Jack Serio, who helmed Weiler’s Well, I’ll Let You Go, an elegiac drama starring some of the best New York stage talents that TheaterMania’s critic called, “this summer’s must-have ticket.” That production has now transferred to Studio Seaview, where it began previews on April 30.
