Chris Henchy, Adam McKay, Dan Savage, et al. to Be Honored at Webby Awards

Adam McKay and Chris Henchy, co-founders of the comedy Web site FunnyOrDie, will be honored as film and video person of the year at the 15th Annual Webby Awards, which will be handed out June 13. Lisa Kudrow will host the ceremony.


It Gets Better Project” founder Dan Savage will be honored for special achievement. The well-known sex columnist’s quest to adopt a child was told in the Off-Broadway musical The Kid.


The “Jeopardy”-playing IBM computer Watson has been named person of the year; and the recently disbanded rock group LCD Soundsystem has been chosen artist of the year;

McKay was a Tony Award nominee as producer of You’re Welcome America: A Final Night With George W. Bush, which starred his frequent collaborator Will Ferrell, and which he also directed. Henchy, who is married to Brooke Shields, recently wrote the film The Other Guys, which was directed by McKay.
