
Chichester Festival Theatre has announced its winter season.
The schedule for the company’s Festival Theatre opens with Alan Bennett’s The Madness of George III (November 14-19), directed by Christopher Luscombe and starring David Haig.
Other offerings in the space will be Simon Callow’s Dr. Marigold and Mr. Chops (November 21-26), Nigel Havers’ Basket Case (November 28 – December 3), C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and The Warlock (December 17-31), adapted by Adrian Mitchell and directed by Dale Rocks; Helen Edmundson and Neil Hannon’s new musical Swallows and Amazons (January 17-21); a return engagement of the stage version of Yes, Prime Minister (January 26-February 4), and Gilbert & Sullivan’s Iolanthe (February 13-18).
The Festival Theatre lineup also includes one-night-only performances of The British Folkprint (February 7), Belly Laughs Live 2012 (February 8), and Fascinating Aida’s Cheap Flights Tour (February 9), as well as a two performance engagement of Three Phantoms (February 10-11).
The season in Chichester’s Minerva Theatre will begin with Peter Polycarpou’s Laugh and Be Happy, a revue featuring songs by Randy Newman, to be offered on November 27. Other offerings in the Minerva will be productions from other companies, including Kneehigh’s The Wild Bride (November 1-5), Frantic Assembly and Drum Theatre Plymouth’s Lovesong, John Godber Company and Theatre Royal Wakefield’s The Debt Collectors, Filter and Lyric Hammersmith’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (December 5-10), Lyngo Theatre and Lyric Hammersmith’s Snow Play (December 12-15), The Pied Piper Theatre Company’s Great Gran’s Great Games (January 13-14), and CAOS Musical Productions’ The Sound of Music.
The Minerva Theatre will also see one-night-only performances by Julie Feilx (January 19), Eve Loiseau (January 21), Zoe Rahman (January 27), Paula Pryke (February 3), and Virginia Ironside (February 4).
