Blanche McIntyre to Direct Sebastian Barry’s The Only True History of Lizzie Finn in London

Blanche McIntyre will direct Sebastian Barry’s The Only True History of Lizzie Finn, to run June 27 – July 21 at Southwark Playhouse. James Perkins will design the production, which will have lighting by Gary Bowman and sound design by George Dennis.


The show, set in 1892, centers on a dancer, who charmed by a soldier returning from the war, becomes entangled in an intense and passionate affair. Casting will be announced in the near future.

McIntyre’s other credits include award-winning productions of Foxfinder and Accolade, as well as The Seven Year Itch, Repentance/Behind The Lines, Molière or the League of Hypocrites, When Did You Last See My Mother?, and The Revenger’s Tragedy, among others.
