The best of Broadway gathered last night at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts for Broadway Stands Up for Freedom, the New York Civil Liberties Union's annual benefit concert. Proceeds from the show benefited NYCLU’s mission of promoting and protecting civil rights and liberties of all New Yorkers.

Hosted by Susan Blackwell, the roster of performers included Erich Bergen (Jersey Boys film), Andréa Burns (On Your Feet!), Rhiannon Giddens, Jayne Houdyshell (The Humans), Jennifer Simard (Disaster!), Emily Skeggs (Fun Home), Christina Bianco (Application Pending), Todd Buonopane (Cinderella), Devin Trey Campbell (Kinky Boots), Crystal Monee Hall (Rent), Celisse Henderson (Godspell), Kristolyn Lloyd (Dear Evan Hansen), Ray Mercer (The Lion King), Arian Moayed (The Humans), Zachary Prince (Honeymoon in Vegas), Liana Stampur and Clinton Curtis, Alexandria Suarez (On Your Feet!), Shaina Taub (Hadestown), and the Brooklyn Tech Lady Dragons Step Team.

The evening was directed by Peter Flynn and Daniel Goldstein, with musical direction by Lynn Shankel. Tony Award nominee Liesl Tommy (Eclipsed) served as the keynote speaker, while Broadway siblings Celia Keenan-
Bolger (The Glass Menagerie) and Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Tuck Everlasting) produced and presented a video.
