Stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts did, however, receive nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts with acting nominations (in the comedy/musical categories of Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by a Supporting Actress, respectively), but the film, which featured a screenplay adapted by the playwright, received no other nods.

On the television end, stage veterans Kerry Washington (Scandal), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan), Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), James Spader (The Blacklist), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Jessica Lange (American Horror Story: Coven), Helen Mirren (Phil Spector), Elisabeth Moss (Top of the Lake), Al Pacino (Phil Spector), Janet McTeer (The White Queen), and Corey Stoll (House of Cards) all received nominations.
