Michael Park Will Play Broadway's Galileo Galilei at Certain Performances

As previously announced, Raúl Esparza takes on the role full time.

Michael Park will play the title role in the new Broadway musical Galileo for certain performances, to be announced at a later date.

In addition to Park, whose formal title is Galileo alternate and standby, the leading company will also include Bradley Dean as Bishop Grasso, Jordon Lee Garcia as Alessandro Tarantola, and Javier Muñoz as Cardinal Morosini. They join the previously announced Raúl Esparza in the title role, Jeremy Kushnier as Barberini, and Joy Woods as Virginia.

This new musical inspired by the life of Galileo Galilei features a book by Danny Strong and an original score by Zoe Sarnak and Michael Weiner. It  starts performances on November 10 at the Shubert Theatre, with an opening night set for December 6.

Galileo is directed by Michael Mayer and choreographed by David Neumann. The creative team also includes music supervisor and orchestrator Brian Usifer, set designer Rachel Hauck, costume designer Susan Hilferty, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer John Shivers, and video and projection designer Ethan Tobman.
