Thomas Ellenson's Thomas & Me to Perform in New York

Ellenson, who has cerebral palsy, will perform the play using a speech-generating device.

Thomas Ellenson will star in his play Thomas & Me at the Frank Shiner Theater (in the Sheen Center for Culture & Thought) September 24-28.

Ellenson has cerebral palsy and uses a power wheelchair. He wrote, directed, and will star in the play, which is about a man reassessing his life before proposing marriage to his girlfriend. Ellenson will perform the full-length play using a speech-generating device.

The play includes music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen.

Mairéad O’Neill and Tyler Austin White will also appear in the production.

Thomas & Me is co-directed by Stephen Santa. The musical director is Sujin Kim-Ramsey. Choreography is by Megan Loomis.
