Roberto Benigni to Tour U.S. in TuttoDante

Academy Award winner Roberto Benigni will tour the United States with his solo show, TuttoDante (Everything About Dante), according to Variety.

In the work, Benigni gives what Variety describes as “a light-hearted verse-by-verse explanation of Dante’s verses preceding the actual recitation.” It will be preceded by a stand-up act. The show has previously toured Italy, as well as cities including London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt and Athens.

The U.S. tour will play San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall (May 26), New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom (May 30), Boston’s Berklee Performing Center (June 6), and Chicago’s Harris Theater (June 12).

Benigni is best known stateside for his Oscar-winning performance in the film, Life Is Beautiful.
