Alfred Molina, Eddie Redmayne and Michael Grandage, the stars and director of the Donmar Warehouse's production of Red, now at Broadway's Golden Theater, met the press on Thursday, March 18.

The play, by John Logan, is set in 1958 when artist Mark Rothko (Molina) received the art world's largest commission to create a series of murals for The Four Seasons restaurant in the new Seagram building on Park Avenue. Under the watchful gaze of his young assistant, Ken (Redmayne) and the threatening presence of a new generation of artists, Rothko faces his greatest challenge yet: to create a definitive work for an extraordinary setting.

The production is designed by Christopher Oram, with lighting design by Neil Austin and music and sound is Adam Cork.

Grandage, an Olivier Award winner, was most recently represented on Broadway by Hamlet. He will direct a new production of King Lear, starring Sir Derek Jacobi, later this year.
