The Tony-nominated revival currently stars Daniel Radcliffe, before Mariska Hargitay takes over later this month.

The Broadway revival of Every Brilliant Thing, starring Daniel Radcliffe, has recouped its $5.75 million capitalization. The solo play reached the milestone in the week ending May 3, 2026, following a strong box office run that has made it one of the top-grossing plays on Broadway since beginning previews on February 21.
The production officially opened March 12 at Hudson Theatre. It has since earned 2026 Tony Award nominations for Best Revival of a Play and Best Leading Actor in a Play for Radcliffe, as well as Drama League Award nominations for Best Revival of a Play and Distinguished Performance, and an Outer Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance.
Radcliffe ends his run on May 24; Mariska Hargitay takes the role May 26-June 28.
Directed by Jeremy Herrin and Duncan Macmillan, and written by Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing is the story of a person who attempts to ease their mother’s depression by creating a list of all the things in the world that make life worth living. First presented in 2014 by Paines Plough, the work made its off-Broadway debut that year at the Barrow Street Theatre, performed by Donahoe. Donahoe also stars in the 2016 HBO film adaptation. This Broadway engagement follows a West End run at the @SohoPlace theater.
The creative team includes scenic and costume designer Vicki Mortimer, lighting designer Jack Knowles, and sound designer Tom Gibbons.
Of the Broadway production with Radclife, our critic said it “shines a genuinely illuminating light on a dark corner of mental health that many will feel uncomfortable exploring.”
