Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon will be the headliner at TDF's 50th Anniversary Gala on June 18 at Manhattan's Gotham Hall. As previously announced, the nonprofit theater organization will honor Tony Kushner, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning playwright whose groundbreaking Angels in America is currently receiving its first Broadway revival with the National Theatre production at the Neil Simon Theatre.

In addition, James Lapine will be presented with the inaugural TDF Founders Award, which is being created, according to a press release, "to honor individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a deep commitment to TDF and its mission, and who embody TDF's vision of a world where the transformative experience of attending live theatre and dance is essential, relevant, accessible and inspirational."

The funds raised at TDF's 50th anniversary gala will provide support for the organization's wide range of programs serving theatergoers and theater-makers.

Brandon Victor Dixon currently costars as Terry Silver on the Starz hit series, Power. He most recently starred as Judas in NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert and as Aaron Burr in Broadway's Hamilton.
