Berlanti Productions and Jessica Queller have announced an exclusive one-night-only reading of the screenplay of the 1983 film Terms of Endearment on Monday, October 1, at the Geffen Playhouse. The event will benefit Stand Up to Cancer and the theater's New Play Development Program.

The cast will include Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) as Aurora Greenway, Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) as Emma Greenway, and Chris Wood (The Vampire Diaries) as Flap Horton. Additional casting will soon be announced.

James L. Brooks's original film — which he adapted from Larry McMurtry's novel — featured Shirley MacLaine, Debra Winger, Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, and John Lithgow. It won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
