Broadway vet Abby Mueller (Kinky Boots) will star as Carole King in the upcoming first national tour of Beautiful — The Carole King Musical, producers have announced. Mueller is the sister of Jessie Mueller, who won a 2014 Tony Award for her performance as the legendary singer-songwriter when the show opened at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Beautiful, which chronicles the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter Carole King, features a book by Douglas McGrath. The musical's songs are written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, and Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "One Fine Day," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," and more.

The Beautiful tour will launch in September at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island (September 15-20) before hitting Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center in October, the Boston Opera House in November, Chicago's Oriental Theatre from December–February 2016, as well as other cities across the country.
