Full Casting Announced for James Lapine's Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing

The creative team has also been announced for Signature Theatre’s production of the new play, starring Debra Monk and Boyd Gaines.

Signature Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming world premiere of Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing, written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine (Sunday in the Park With George). The production will run February 28-March 26.

Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing is based on the real-life story of Elva Miller, who gained notoriety as an unlikely pop phenomenon in the 1960s for her renditions of "Downtown," "Monday, Monday," "A Hard Day's Night," and more.

As previously announced, the production will star Emmy and Tony Award winner Debra Monk (Curtains) and Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines (Gypsy) as Mrs. and Mr. Miller. Monk and Gaines are joined in the cast by Rebekah Brockman (HBO's Divorce) as Joelle Taylor, Kaitlyn Davidson (Nice Work If You Can Get It) as Carol Sue Singleton, Will LeBow (Act One) as Larry Drummond and Dr. Shapiro, Corey Mach (Hands on a Hardbody) as Simon Bock, Kimberly Marable (Sister Act) as Denise Banfield, and Jacob ben Widmar (Xanadu) as Bobby Sherin.

The creative team includes choreography by Josh Prince (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical); musical supervision and orchestration by Tony Award winner Michael Starobin (Falsettos); musical direction by Matt Hinkley (Finding Neverland); scenic cesign by Tony Award winner Heidi Ettinger (Secret Garden); lighting design by Tony Award winner Jeff Croiter (Falsettos); costume design by Jennifer Caprio (Falsettos); and wig, hair, and makeup design by J. Jared Janas (Sunset Boulevard).
