Corbin Bleu to Star in Singin' in the Rain at the Muny

The St. Louis theater celebrates its centennial season with a classic musical this summer.

The Muny has announced the leading trio for its centennial season production of Singin' in the Rain, set to run June 27-July 3. Corbin Bleu (Holiday Inn) and Jeffrey Schecter (Fiddler on the Roof) will portray Don Lockwood and Cosmo Brown, respectively, while former Muny Kid, Berklea Going, will star as Kathy Selden. Singin' in the Rain is directed by Marc Bruni and choreographed by Rommy Sandhu with music-direction by Ben Whiteley.

Singin' in the Rain is a 1952 American musical and romantic comedy, with a screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed. The original film starred Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, and Debbie Reynolds. The stage adaptation opened on Broadway in 1985, featuring popular songs from the movie including "Good Mornin'," "Moses Supposes," and the title number, "Singin' in the Rain."

The seven shows in the 2018 Muny season are Jerome Robbins' Broadway (June 11-17), The Wiz
(June 19-25), Singin' in the Rain (June 27-July 3), Jersey Boys (July 9-16), Annie (July 18-25), Gypsy (July 27-August 2), and Meet Me in St. Louis (August 4-12).
