42nd Street Moon Announces Casting for Silk Stockings

42nd Street Moon has announced casting for its production of Cole Porter’s final Broadway musical, Silk Stockings. Performances are set to run May 4 – 22 at the Eureka Theatre. Greg MacKellan will direct, with musical direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Jayne Zaban.

Silk Stockings is a sophisticated musical version of the classic film Ninotchka which tells the story of Ninotchka, a stern Russian commissar, who is seduced by the joys of Paris and the charms of an American film agent, Steve Canfield. The book is by George S. Kaufman with collaborators Leueen MacGrath and Abe Burrows.

The cast will include Lee Ann Payne as Ninotchka, Ian Simpson as Steve Canfield, Dyan McBride as Janice Dayton, Daniel Epstein as Peter Boroff, Ray Renati as Chief Commissar Markovtich, and Nancy Dobbs Owens as Vera. Jeremy Vik, Michael Rhone, and Jackson Davis will play the three commissars, and Bill Olson, Jonathan Shue, Annie Donahey, Corinne Proctor, and Hannah Knapp will appear in multiple character roles.
