Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell will join the Philadelphia Orchestra for its Opening Concert and Gala of the Orchestra’s 111th season at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, on Thursday, September 23, at 7pm.

The evening will honor chief conductor Charles Dutoit for his three decades of music-making with the Orchestra.

Bell’s newest CD, At Home With Friends, pairs him up with Tony Award winners Kristin Chenoweth and Marvin Hamlisch, pop singers Sting and Regina Spektor, operatic heart throb Josh Groban, and jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, among other artists. Bell recently performed in Twin Spirits, which was presented by the Culture Project at Jazz at Lincoln Center last month.
