New Plays by Sarah Jones and Qui Nguyen Set for Manhattan Theatre Club Season

New works by Qui Nguyen (She Kills Monsters) and Tony winner Sarah Jones (Bridge and Tunnel) are on the docket for Manhattan Theatre Club's 2016-17 off-Broadway season.

The world premiere of Sell/Buy/Date, written and performed by Jones, will take the stage at the company's Studio at Stage II beginning September 27, 2016. Directed by Carolyn Cantor, the new work is inspired by the real-life experiences of people affected by the commercial sex industry. It officially opens October 18.

Nguyen's Vietgone, directed by May Adrales, begins performances October 4 at MTC's New York City Center – Stage I space. Riffing on the classic boy-meets-girl trope, the work follows the romance of a pair of Vietnam War refugees newly settled in a relocation camp in Middle America. It is inspired by the meeting of Nguyen's own parents. Opening night is October 25.
