The musical celebrates opening night this Sunday.
Pump Boys and Dinettes is now in performances at Paper Mill Playhouse, where the musical tribute to life on the road opens Sunday, April 10. Directed by John Foley with choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, the show runs through May 1 at the New Jersey theater.
Conceived, written, and originally performed by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann, Pump Boys and Dinettes tells the story of four gas station attendants and two waitresses at a small-town dinette in North Carolina.
Paper Mill's six-person cast features Alysha Umphress (Rhetta), James Barry (Jim), Gabe Bowling (Jackson), Julie Foldesi (Prudie), Jason Ostrowski (L.M.), and Sam Weber (Eddie). Take a look at clips of the company performing a few of the show's down-home numbers.
